I was going to suggest using it as a bird feeder. ;-) Keep us posted on what your friend will eventually use them as.

PazAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4272818233395892141.post-51277920182008374742009-01-27T08:01:00.000-08:002009-01-27T08:01:00.000-08:00Many of you guessed the original purpose; they wer...Many of you guessed the original purpose; they were turkey feeders. I like Sulwyn's idea of gnome homes. And planters would be good. Thank you all for the ideas. I will pass them on to JB and see what she thinks. If we come up with something neat, I'll post it on a blog.
Hugs, LauraAmongst The Oakshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06557263218213720034noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4272818233395892141.post-56314938863461460142009-01-27T02:28:00.000-08:002009-01-27T02:28:00.000-08:00Bird houses are a good idea. What I would probably do is add some sticks of some sort to raise the roof (so to speak)maybe paint it or treat it so they look like copper tops and make them into planters-plant some pretty flowering plants and hang them on the porch or patio!you already have a built in water catcher. If they were mine I would have a blst transforming them! Hope you post whatever they become it would be fun to see! ~Smiles~Tam!tamhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11670492770263044845noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4272818233395892141.post-58878140892989402052009-01-26T19:00:00.000-08:002009-01-26T19:00:00.000-08:00They are chicken feedersLorriThey are chicken feeders
LorriLorrihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03583585626846878449noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4272818233395892141.post-71064246122763284062009-01-26T18:12:00.000-08:002009-01-26T18:12:00.000-08:00They're chicken feeders, aren't they?They look lik...They're chicken feeders, aren't they?

They look like they could be great birdhouses.Pippajohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07651166001450622296noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4272818233395892141.post-31007267299193588322009-01-26T18:10:00.000-08:002009-01-26T18:10:00.000-08:00Oh, and I am still giggling over your tossing the ...Oh, and I am still giggling over your tossing the second tong behind the stove. I was giggling while I was driving to work this morning. More food poured in through the open roof. Painting them would be good. They could be cute in the garden. Or back to using them as birdfeeders if they were feeders originally.Neabearhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09311437927263063301noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4272818233395892141.post-26595612606042301022009-01-26T14:52:00.000-08:002009-01-26T14:52:00.000-08:00Gosh, I just don't know what it is, somewhere betw...Gosh, I just don't know what it is, somewhere between a smokestack or something Chinese!

If she is adept with power tools she could make a birdhouse/feeder/watering hole.

Hope this helps!!!

xoxo
JaneBlondie's Journalhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12988377413260331618noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4272818233395892141.post-48370151792647768962009-01-26T13:25:00.000-08:002009-01-26T13:25:00.000-08:00They remind me of the containers we used to use to...They remind me of the containers we used to use to water our chickens and turkeys.

They would definitely make cute little "houses"Minniehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00336306405584571307noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4272818233395892141.post-20660863319474978602009-01-26T13:19:00.000-08:002009-01-26T13:19:00.000-08:00They reminded me at first of those vents that some...They reminded me at first of those vents that sometimes sit on roofs above heaters, but not really sure what they are.

How about turning them into "gnome" homes? Add a door and some windows with paint or cut them out and decorate, then let vines creep all over them. They'd look really cute all dressed up as little cottages!

With the hinging tops you could even make them useful for storing tools or old pots.Sulwynhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07955517410337921985noreply@blogger.com
