In Like A Lion

I am so sorry about that mess yesterday. You know how sometimes you're still schlepping around in your jammies and decide to clean out the frige and so you have all this moldy old stuff out on the counter? And then the door bell rings and it's someone who thinks you're all neat and tidy, say, your mother in law? And then, embarrassed because she caught you not only NOT dressed, but with this junk all over your counter, you then try to talk normally to her, but then something else begs for attention, like kids screaming and fighting in the other room, so you run in there. And there she is in the kitchen looking at that stuff. Freely inspecting all that stuff. Grading you on all that disgusting stuff left there on the counter. Moldy leftovers, processed cheese, slimy jelly jars, brown Tabasco sauce, dried up cheese and black lettuce. And knowing that you are NOT the wonderful housekeeper that she once thought.

Well, that's exactly how I felt yesterday. I was trying to change my blog to a wonderful cheery springy king of thing and it just wasn't working. Between Blogger, Photoshop, Illustrator and the gremlins in my computer, it just kept getting all crazy! So, in frustration, I just threw up my hands and turned it off. And there it sat all ugly for the whole world to see. I felt so embarrassed. And I'm sorry that you had to see that. I hope it never happens again.
Now on to better things.

Every spring we watch the wisteria buds get fat, then elongate and finally burst forth with their scrummy cloud of purple blossoms. To better share that with you, I'm going to be posting a photo of them every other day showing their progress. So without further ado here is my first WisteriaCam.

  2. I love the new look, and I totally missed the "mess on the counter," so I won't tell! Great analogy, though! Sometimes we worry about the oddest things, don't we?

Love your little felted doggies, too!

    Have a great week!
    xoxo,
    Mary

  3. I love the new springtime look of your blog! Very pretty!
Blogger was acting up yesterday ... very frustrating at times.

I smiled at your profile description because I do know know what "wellies" are! They are indispensable in Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland.

    Hugs, Pat

  4. This is too funny! I just finished a new post on my blog and then came over to get caught up with you and had to laugh when I saw the title of this entry! I used the same exact title! I swear I wrote it before I saw yours and didn't copy you! I guess we just think alike is all...

I loved your mess analogy. I feel like that ALL THE TIME. And I love both the new springtime look and the felted dogs. I might even be able to do that and use them as gifts!

By the way, I've been meaning to ask you, how can an American girl get her hands on a pair of Wellies? I went and asked at Target and they looked at me like I was crazy!
