To make her spots I took small bits of roving and wadded them up into flattened ovals then started poking them into place. I used some brown and some black, then I made tiny dots and attached the nose and eyes. But I think the eyes are too big, so I may replace them with little black beads. I also poked in a little pink for her mouth.
So here is Amy pretty much done. Notice how her legs look messy? That's from poking the needle clear through her leg. The needle actually pushed the ends of the fibers out the other side, but that fuzz can be trimmed off. Kinda like going to the groomer.
Now I want you to see how smart she is. She can play.
She can sit.

I'm still working with her unruly brother. He's a handful. I'll show more of him later. Meanwhile you can go to YouTube and search "needle felting" for more information. And you can go to Etsy and search for "needle felted dogs". There are some fabulous things there.
p.s. Sorry this post is so late. I tried to blog earlier, but Blogger was having some sort of meltdown and I couldn't post.
Hi. The little dog is precious. You sure have gotten onto the hang of felting very quickly. Can't wait to see what other projects you come up with. Hope you're having a great weekend. Rhondi
ReplyDeleteHe is tiny! And so lovely. :)
ReplyDeleteMy goodness! What a sweet lil pup!
ReplyDeleteThis needlefelting is amazing although I still don't think I have the confidence to try it. If I do I shall definitely look back at your tutorials. I can't believe that this cheeky, very realistic looking pup, starts its life as a pipe cleaner! x
ReplyDeleteThis is so good - looks so lifelike. clever. Enjoyed your plant posts too.
