Have You Seen It?

Have you seen it? Some people I know actually went to see it just after midnight on Tuesday, but I went to see it last night after work. And it was good. The characters are maturing, so there was infatuation, snogging, jealousy, and broken hearts, but that part was quite humorous. The plot basically followed the book, but of course it left out a lot of details. For those of us who've read the books, the movies can be a little weak, but if they put in every detail the movies would be even longer. And at almost three hours long, I'd say that's long enough. Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince; highly recommended from Amongst The Oaks.

  1. We saw it last night, of course! Man-Cub even wore his school robes for the event.

Simply as a movie, standing along on its own merits, I liked it. As compared to the book, I was disappointed. I thought a lot of it was filmed and handled very well, but some parts seemed unnecessarily changed.

But, all said, I'm still a fan and will be seeing it more than once!

  3. I had always intended on reading the books but....you get the picture. My 18 year old has read every one and will be seeing the movie. Can't wait to get her review. I have heard that it strays from the book, but of course, it has to as you said. Who needs to sit in a theatre for 4 hours?

Have a great weekend, Laura and thank for the advice on the wisteria. I am going to find small trellis's this weekend. If you don't mind, I will email you pics. I feel like you are my Wisteria, M.D. LOL!!

  4. oh yes!!! I did the midnight thing :) A bit of a mad fan, and not ashamed to say so either... :)
I laughed and I cried, and I enjoyed every little bit of it. I think they becomre more art-sey every year... which I am not sure if I like or not... it kind of lacks the "real" glow from the first movies... But then again, I am biased, I LOVE the books more... like everyone else...

And I thought Ron still is the best!!! But Harry being High was fun too ;)

  7. My daughter went to see it she said the beginning kind of dragged for her but she really likes the books better. She has read them all at least twice. I read the first book and have seen all the movies except for the latest.

  8. I never did get caught up in the Harry Potter books and movies. But both of my kids did as well as my niece. They all really like them.
