In the little pink room there was a tassel from France,
and flowered curtains with no valance,
and soft pink carpet on which to dance,
and Teen2 defiantly taking a stance.
She won and so now it's Goodbye to pink.
Wallpaper, blankets and quilts; you all stink.
And the little old lady who loved the pink?
She sits in the corner crying in her drink.
Goodbye rose buds.
Goodbye broadloom.
Goodbye blankets.
Goodbye quilts.
Goodbye pink in this little room.

That's some mighty cute pink to which to say goodbye. Is there no place for it to move??? Maybe recycled into some sort of cuteness? Can you tell I like pink???
Happy Pink Saturday...
XO,
Sheila :-)
Happy Pink Saturday!
Even though it's goodbyes in that room I agree with Magpie, maybe you'll find a new home for some of the items.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Tam
Oh, how funny and sad!! I love your sense of humor about this. Our kids are truly their own people, aren't they? You're a good mom to let her claim her space for her own.
There will be a granddaughter one day to share all of your pink. At least that is what I keep telling myself.LOL. My daughter wanted to do her room in black and white. I nearly cried.

Oh, so sorry that the pink had to leave. Send it over to my place!

Happy Pink Saturday!
Blessings,

Oh, isn't it sad when they decide to not like pink anymore?? My middle daughter used to LOVE pink, but now she just likes it. Great poem and lovely pictures! Happy Pink Saturday!!
I know exactly how you feel! I'm in the beginning makeover of my daughter's room. I decorated it when she was 2 in Pink and green, Shabby Chic and now there are 5 purple paint samples up on the wall!
A girl wants what a girl wants!
This reminds me of the ode I wrote to my favorite soup tureen after I dropped it in the driveway and it smashed to smithereens in the rain.
Funny, now I can't remember a word of it.
Maybe you can win a small victory by keeping a square foot of fierce pink hidden in the closet or something.
But how good of you to let your daughter have the freedom to be herself, even if it's not the way you would have chosen!
oh pink! how happy you have made us; with tearful eyes we say goodbye. your cousin lilace rules the day, with green and black along her side. we move ahead with openness, but remember oft the joy you did provide. jkj
Oh, so sad. I, too, hope some of those things can find a new home. Visions of pink never seem to float through a teenager's head but, with time, maybe she'll remember it fondly.

Poor little pinkies. You hafta find a new home for them. :). Happy Pink Saturday and have a great week.
Maybe purple will be the new pink. Or, maybe she'll come back one day.
Happy Pink Saturday, Laura.
Happy Pink Saturday;
How sad it is when our children grow up and want to make their rooms their own. It is hard to let go, but all that beautiful Pink, I hope you find a new home for them all..

What a cute tribute to a part of your daughters youth! Happy belated ps
What a lot of lovely pink things!! You did a great job on PS!
I read a little of your blog. The tongs post was LOL. That stuff is always happening to me and my hubby hates to pull out the stove for fear of disconnecting the gas (oh no!!) And of course the wall behind it is gross. One of these days...
Have a great Sunday evening! :-)
xoxo

How very sad to say goodbye to the pink. Hoping you find a place for all these beautiful treasures.
Lisa
Must have been her room? I was the same way, I couldn't wait for the pink to go. I ended up painting my room green.
