Delightful Tablecloth

Will you look at this beautiful table cloth my MIL got for me? Does she know me or what? Well, actually, she gave me a gift card for my birthday and this is what I chose, but I'll remember it as the tablecloth she gave me. Anyway, I luuuuuuvvv the colors and the flowers. It looks like it could come from Cath Kidston, but of course we don't have her shops out here in the sticks of California. I'm sure no one in California even know who she is, or understands her style. Everyone here is into the Italian/Mediterranean thing right now. Or maybe the Pottery Barn look. Certainly not the English cottage look. But I digress.

We took it on our picnic Sunday. I thought it was cute even in the back of the car!

But it really set the stage there under the mulberry tree. We felt so sophisticated and British with our pretty new tablecloth. Does anyone else have a new favorite tablecloth?

P.S. I walked again today: 40 minutes/2.5 miles

I love this post because you sound just like me. I'm glad I am not the only one that can love a tablecloth.

I love my table linens, and my husband teases me about it.

And, I love your new tablecloth, too.

That's one beautiful tablecloth. Funny you mention the California style. I don't see a lot of English country love that way, but doesn't that mean more pretties for us?

I wish we had a Cath Kidston here too. We are sadly lacking...

Hope you had a glorious picnic.

PS Come to think of it, I have one very similar that is a Ralph Lauren from eons ago

I have to say, I am a Californian and I LOVE Cath Kidston! I have for many years, even before her first store in the U.S. opened in New York. I was so excited when I was able to go to her store in Marlybone. It took some effort to get away from my fellow travelers who wanted to go to cultural things like the Tower Bridge and the London Eye ;), when I just wanted to go to Cath Kidston's shop!
I treasure my purchases from that stop.
Love your tablecloth. My favorite is my vintage calories one I won on Ebay.

Very pretty tablecloth. Love the colors. Is that a longaberger basket to I see? I collect those.

Great for you for walking! Congrats! I would think English decor would not be the rage in CA--you stick to your independent streak!

Yes, that's a Longaberger basket. I have a few of them and use the heck out of them. They are so strong and pretty. That's the pie carrier - good for carrying other things too, like a quiche to our picnic.

Oh, I loved your tablecloth so much I found it online and ordered one. (I hope you believe that imitation is the highest form of flattery) It will go nicely with my green all weather wicker. Maybe I can talk you into sharing a few of your lovely picnic recipes, too, especially those scrummy looking Scotch eggs.

PS I also love Cath Kidston.
