Camellia Season

Here in California it is Camellia Season. They seem to like our clay soil and warm climate and perform quite reliably every winter. They are like nature's Valentine to us. I ran out this morning and took these photos for all of you. I thought maybe you needed a bit of color to get you through the winter. And even though I didn't sign up for Pink Saturday, I often think of pink on Saturday. Enjoy!

Just gorgeous! I wish I had some in my yard. They always remind me of my MIL; she brought them inside when hers were in bloom and had a dish of them on the dining room table.

Hugs!

What lovely photos - we have camelias in WA too - but they often get a bit frost bitten - or turn brown from too much rain after they open - but when they are blooming nicely they are simply elegant. I love them. Hmmmm don't have one in my yard - wonder if the deer like them? Always a consideration when I plant anything.

Oh, how pretty, you can still see the morning dew on them! You are a great photographer and these are beautiful flowers. Lucky you!
